“Gainesville Health & Rehab is a very nice facility. The staff is exceptional, always helpful, and always friendly. There is always someone at the front desk upon arrival, ready to assist you with any questions or concerns.”

-Jada M.

“Everyone is great and helpful. The majority of people are kind. It may take some time to get acclimated to the way the schedule works, but all in all, staff members have good and polite.”

“The physical therapy here is very good.”

-Norma Quinn

“The staff and residents are like family. Staff members are valuable in the providing assistance and support with the adjustment to new patients and residents in the way that they are sensitive to the hardships of residents. The facility is growing and changing in a positive way. The activities department has helped me to grow in ways I never expected. I’m happy to help where I can. It also brings me joy to get to know my fellow residents through listening to their concerns without judgement. The negatives are easy to focus on, but when you focus on the positives, amazing things can happen.”

-Kathleen McKenna

“The new administrator is wonderful. Although he is still learning, he is doing a good job, and it is not an easy job. His job requires a lot of responsibility, but I am noticing a difference.”

-William “Bill” Greaver

“The rehab center at Gainesville is the best that I have been to. (I have been to 4 others.) The therapists are excellent! And the food is excellent! The C.N.A.s are very conscientious – they always have the will and the way to help everyone. The center had a special luncheon with steak and shrimp for mine and my wife’s 55th wedding anniversary celebration. We rate this place as excellent and highly recommend it!”
-W. Jones

“I have been here 3 weeks for PT and OT. Deepti Bhatia and Marie Clonts are great to work with! You know where you stand and what is expected of you. Each day here I improved a lot. Thanks to these ladies I have come a long way toward my goals.”
-Marianne E. Wilkenson

“Marie, [Jame’s] physical therapist, and Amy, his occupational therapist, have been unbelievable at helping and motivating him! His speech therapist, Karen, is very nice and very patient with him, but regaining his speech has been more of a challenge.”

“Marie and Amy really believed in [James]. It was such a motivator for him!. At first they started with stretching while he was in bed. It escalated pretty quickly to getting him up and taking him to the gym. They got him to stand and started using the parallel bars. It was pretty amazing!”

– Mira and Sara West

“I’m glad I’m here. This has been a very positive experience. I have enjoyed it here. I love my therapists, Ash and Andrea. They are both very supportive and very helpful. They encourage me to do all that I can do. I am very motivated and I will push myself.”
– Linda Furlong

-Constance “Connie” Vetter

“The therapy staff is very good. They have made it seem easier for me by counting along with me. I highly recommend the therapy department here. They are all such nice people!”

-Dolores Wood

“Everyone has become my family and I have made a bunch of friends. The nurses and all the staff are just great!”

-Jack Warf

“Ash’s positivity and push to help me achieve my goals. Whenever I was having a bad day, or didn’t think that I was going to be able to do certain therapy exercises, Ash gave me the push to really try. Ash told me there is no such word as can’t and that really gave me the motivation to try and to do what I could.”

-Carroll Lamb

“Whenever I take her out, after several hours she is anxious to ‘go home,’ back to her room at GHRC where she is so comfortable. She obviously feels very safe and secure here. Mamie is happy here and doing well in her familiar surroundings. I am grateful to GHRC for her wonderful care. I have such peace of mind when I leave the building each day.”

-Vernadette Moore

“My mother arrived at GHRC in pain, underweight, and depressed after her hip surgery. Since then she has progressed immensely. She is completely healed, gained 10 pounds, and is her old self again! She is happy and her sense of humor is back. The entire staff , and I mean EVERYONE, has been so attentive, caring, friendly, and empathetic. They have all become part of our family. I don’t know what we would have done without them. We are so very, very grateful to you all, mere words are not enough. Thank you all so very much for all you do! Bless all of you!”

– Mary Ullmann (daughter)

“Thank you for the help and attention to my husband of 60 years! The therapy was most helpful and the staff were most pleasant. We give thanks to the nurses and much appreciation to the aides!”

– Margaret McFarland

“My time at Gainesville was great! There was lots of good help and they were inspirational! – Thank you all!”

– Barbara Gonzales

“Everyone has been wonderful since the time I came into the facility until the time I went home. I was at Gainesville Health & Rehab for 2 weeks and 2 days. I came in straight from the hospital with a hip fracture. The staff were all wonderful! If I needed anything, all I had to do was raise my hand or push a button. The CNAs and nurses were very helpful. Therapy was great and they are all very professional without a doubt! My advice for any current and future patients is to just hang in there and keep working!”

– John Lamper

My husband “Val” and I were married for 45 years in January. It was never easy, but he was a good father and husband. It is very hard seeing the changes in him and that they are getting worse.
I am eternally grateful for the care and patience your staff has given him – even when he is not being so nice. Judy Jones, Barbara, Isaac, and Pius are saints – not only do they provide excellent care for my husband but they are always so kind and considerate. I can’t remember all the names of your other staff, but everyone is so great: Alma, Maurice, Rose, Brittany, Tara, Kevin, and April. In addition, Jennifer Hale, Brenda, Crystal, Tammy, and Robin have helped me more than once. I believe that without them I would have had a stroke!

-Virginia Valentini (wife of long-term resident)

“My mother has been in four facilities since her first stroke four years ago. After having a bad experience at another facility, I was on the hunt for a safe and competent place where I didn’t feel mom would be a number. As soon as we entered GHR I sensed a good feeling of caring, compassion and clean. People were smiling especially the staff and that is always a good sign. Then when mom came for a visit she immediately felt comfortable. I come at different times of the week and I observe staff and patients when they have good days and bad days, everyone has a bad day, I always feel mom is being treated the best and that she feels safe. This gives us all peace of mind. Mom and our family want to thank the staff for their care and compassion. We have referred several families to GHR and feel confident that they will not be disappointed.”

-Jay “Butch” Chevalierv

I want to pass on to you and Barbara and Karen and Marie (and all the other caregivers/staff) how much my brother Rob, Debbie’s daughters’ – Kim, Jessica, and Sara, my dad Jim, and my whole extended family appreciate the loving care she receives at Gainesville Health and Rehab!

We moved Debbie into your facility in April of 2011. She was living at the Marywood apartments in Manassas and even with increasing care by local CNAs she was experiencing more frequent and severe bedsores amongst other complications. She felt welcoming arms from the start and she feels she’s right at home with you all.

With all the bad media one hears about care places for those unable to take care of themselves it gives us all great peace of mind knowing she’s being treated so well! I know the work you all do is not easy and it may not be celebrated in our society like that of sports and silver screen heroes but that does not take away from the importance of the work you all do and the key role it plays in society.

So, on behalf of Debbie’s extended family … a hearty thank you one and all!!

– Tim Daley

“Fred has had the best care here! All of the staff are just great people, many of them going out of their way to make you comfortable. He has accomplished a great deal in the therapy program here.”

– Jean Kuta

“Our family is very happy with the staff at GHRC. Mom has been well-cared for and is treated with love and compassion. We are appreciative of the thoughtfulness and support of everyone.”

– Roger Lee

Dad had seven weeks of therapy and mom had three. When they arrived home, they were both able to walk up the four steps leading into their home! Previously, we used wheelchairs to pull them up the steps. Both increased their upper body strength with the exercises they did in Rehab with you all. Dad’s appetite is back and he ate a full dinner last night and a complete big breakfast this morning! I believe that their quality of life has been enhanced because of the weeks they spent at Gainesville Health and Rehab! Thank you so, so much for helping my parents!

– Teri Bandy

“The team is very professional and has been very good to me. Thanks for the loving care! I would recommend the facility to anyone who really wants to recover. Thanks!”

– Gloria T. Bandy

“I have been here for two months. Everyone who has helped me, from the aides to the therapists, has worked hard to make my stay comfortable and successful. All the therapists have worked with me to get my strength and physical skills back to where I can function in a healthy, safe way, and they have done this in a friendly and kind way. All of the workers from aides to nurses have been excellent and kind to me.”

– Peter Kuykendall

“The entire staff here is amazing and a blessing in their care of Nancy. She arrived here mentally and physically non-functional. She is now totally cognizant and functioning extremely well as she approaches her complete rehabilitation. We are thankful to all for their professional and personal commitment to patient care.”

– John Paganoni

My family and I would like to thank you and all your staff for the wonderful care, service, and assistance rendered to my mother, Jean McGee, during her stay at Gainesville Health and Rehab. We greatly appreciate the support my mother and we received. My sisters were truly impressed by your facility and attentive care. We especially would like to commend Ida, Judy, Annie and Hoi for their patient indulgence and loving assistance. But all your staff was kind and most helpful. I know Mom was not the easiest patient to take care of. And thanks also to Sara, Mike and Ashley for their administrative assistance. They were a great help getting me through the Medicare maze.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need assistance in closing out our account with you. God bless you all for the work you do.

– Michael P. McGee

Thank you for the compassionate, attentive care you provided our mother, Margaret Cockrell, during her one year stay with you. Since we were not physically able to care for her at home, we were comfortable knowing she was in a place that was capable of seeing to her needs.

On numerous occasions, we witnessed the diligence and concern of staff members, including CNS’s, LPN’s and RN’s. In many ways, you became her new family, tending to her around the clock. It was a fact she recognized as well, as witnessed by her response to your care.

We appreciate all you did. While we are glad Mom is no longer suffering, we’re sorry we’ll not have the frequent opportunity to see many of you who’ve become dear friends over the past twelve months.

My wife was recently a patient at Gainesville Health and Rehab Center. Upon her admittance we were both apprehensive about nursing homes and the care that she would be receiving. You often hear the “bad” stories of various nursing facilities, but never the good. I am happy to say that shortly are her being admitted there, our worries and fears diminished and I felt comfortable leaving her in the hands of the staff at Gainesville.

I was very pleased with the quality of care she received. The facility is very clean and well kept. The nursing staff was very attentive to the needs of my wife, and did an excellent job of taking care of her. The rehab department did a wonderful job with her therapy and was extremely helpful in helping her regain her strength and help her get back home.

The staff at Gainesville was extremely helpful to my wife and me and I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone who was in need of short term or long term rehab.

– Mr. James N Ryan

I sincerely wish to thank each and everyone who took such wonderful care of my mother, Betty Poet.

The professionalism, compassion and respect shown to mother is a testament that she was in good hands.

My gratitude to those who took time to visit and express their love to Mom (while in Fairview) and again to express their sympathy to me and my family upon mother’s passing Saturday evening was a touching and tender moment I will treasure.

– Connie Sorrell

Ken and I wanted to thank everyone who cared for Jeanette (Jean) Comisky for the past four years. There were so many nurses, aides, staff who we met over the time Jean was at GHRC, I hesitate to name the names for fear of forgetting someone. Jean tried to manage as best as she could over her remaining days at Gainesville because she was one determined, independent lady. Her blindness and tremors left her with limitations which she dealt with and accepted with grace and dignity.

Everyone from the medical/daily care areas, dietary, activities, maintenance, and housekeeping were always there to assist in any way they could. With that, we thank you all and ask God’s Blessing on all of you who cared for and knew Jean as the lady she was.

– Barbara and Ken Cominsky
